Group Description

A search and support group for all members of the triad. The purposes of ABC, Adoptees' Birthrights Committee, are as follows:

To exchange information regarding adoption procedures and laws and public policy regarding adoption.
To provide for the education of persons interested in adoption procedures and problems.
To study and advocate public policy in the field of adoption legislation, practice and procedures and to issue publications in the field of adoption.
To help adoptees, adoptive parents, birth parents and others to obtain psychological support and fellowship.
To provide assistance to help persons who have been adopted to locte their blood relatives and to obtain information about their antecedents, provided where adoptees who are minors are concerned, the written consent of the adoptive parents shall first be obtained and presented to the organization.

Adoptees' Birthrights Committee initiates activities directed towards fulfilling these goals — general meetings, search workshops, education forums, newsletters, etc.
